in1. 3 years ago today, I was in a hospital bed watching this tiny boy sleeping and making little moaning sounds. He was definitely the cutest boy ever born (this is true, I am not biased, ask anyone!)
2. 3 years ago today, M was meeting “her baby” for the first time and pointing out all his body parts – she was very into that at age 20 months!
3. 3 years ago today, D and I were arguing over names – he was adamant about Gabriel, I didn’t like it. He won, obviously. I regret to this day I didn’t put Gabe on the birth certificate. He just isn’t a Gabriel….
4. 3 years ago today I was still in shock there was a baby boy – I was convinced I was having another girl. As a matter of fact, when the nurse said, “It’s a boy!” my response was, “Are you sure?” Ha!
5. 3 years ago today I already couldn’t imagine our lives without this blond haired, blue-eyed boy in it. He was, and still is, perfect. Though he does have an evil streak a mile wide!
Happy Birthday, sweet boy, we love you more than you’ll ever know!

in(This is my second post today, check below for my Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger submission!)
Back for day two of Week in the Life and I’m still loving it. So much so that I’m seriously considering Project Life next Year, though I might start that in September as that’s when M starts school – seems like a good point from which to go year to year.
Anyway…. Here are some pics from yesterday!
Enjoy!

inHe…
…is not sleeping. Which would be fine if he stayed in his room and didn’t jump on other people to wake them up.
…makes the funniest faces. He’s just like my brother Matthew who was the bane of myย existenceย growing up!
…loves his trucks and cars. He’s such a boy! But he really loves carrying around the tiny ones. He’s definitely mine!
…really is the cutest thing ever. When he’s not being evil, that is!
She…
…is being somewhat easier to get along with these days. Big sigh of relief here. I was about to donate her to charity…. ๐
…loves writing letters – both the alphabet and ones to mail. She’s getting pretty good at both!
…had her first bike ride yesterday and did really well. She loved every minute of it!
…really is the cutest thing ever. When she’s not whiny, that is!
He…
…is procrastinating about writing the outline for his Studio Photography 101 Course.
…is itching to go on a long Geocaching spree.
…just bought me a very fancy, very sharp new knife just because. And because I always complain that mine won’t stay sharp. He wins the very nice husband award this week!
She…
…is loving that spring has arrived and we can all go outside again.
….is still really enjoying the scrapcave – though the stuff is starting to close in on me again!
…has some new 100% wool felt that I can’t wait to play with!
…thinks that Instagram for Android is the bomb!
She…
…sleeps in the strangest places.
…loves getting her picture taken.
She…
…insists on sneaking into G’s room at night. He hates that.
…hates getting her picture taken.

inAfter last week and all the sickness that flooded through here, I was looking forward to a long weekend of well and happy people and, for the most part, I got it – yay!
D was still a bit off his game so on Thursday night and Friday,ย G and I got to spend some very rare quality time together while M went to Nana’s for the night. We headed to D’s sister’s house Friday afternoon for an early egg hunt and play time with the cousins, then to my Dad’s house for salt fish and brewis, my favourite!
Saturday was our regular crazy day – gymnastics for G, groceries, gymnastics for M, finish errands, and by that time the day is over! Not too hard to get the kiddies in bed though – they knew the Easter Bunny was coming (M did try to stay awake to see him!).
That Easter Bunny is pretty smart and left new Series 6 Lego men and sticker books outside their bedroom doors which meant M and G could curl up in our bed at 6:30 rather than drag us downstairs at that early hour! Finally though, the excitement couldn’t be contained and they took off. I have to say, they were super good at finding their treats and at sharing them. If M saw two chocolates together, she took one and called G over for his. Of course, they had a few other things like colouring books and tiny toys mixed in too.
After the great hunt, we headed to the Bagel Cafe for breakfast as a treat – M loves to eat breakfast in a restaurant – and the kiddies got free Easter pancakes, chocolate with mini eggs baked in!
We had a lazy afternoon, something we never get around here, then headed to my mom’s house for ham dinner. ย By the time we got the kiddies home and in bed, it was 9:30, way, way, waaaaay past their bedtimes! Suffice it to say, they’re actually upstairs taking naps today!
I did my best to get some pics, but with a girl who hates getting hers taken, it’s always a struggle. Here are the best. Really, I’m not kidding!
Hope you all had wonderful weekends and enjoyed your Easter! Back tomorrow with some fun Things on Thursday!

06 Friday Apr 2012
Since today was a holiday, M. spent part of yesterday and last night with Nana.
And since D. was still sick, that left G. and I alone together. And I realized that I never, *never* have him just on his own.
Last night we went and did some errands, stopped at The Paperie, and had McDonalds for supper – big treat!
Today, we went out and played a bit, then had a long visit with “the trains” as my kiddies fondly call Chapters. They know there are books, which they like to buy and take home, but the big Thomas the Train setup is the main attraction! We got lucky and had the place mostly to ourselves, something that never happens.
While we were there, Nana called and invited us to join her and Molly at a movie, G’s first (Mom, I need the tickets please!) so the four of us met up to watchย The Lorax, which was really good! And G. sat through the whole thing, no wiggling or anything!
After the movie, G. and I headed home, while M. stayed with Nana a little longer (we met her later at Aunt Barbara’s house for an early Easter Egg hunt with the cousins). He fell asleep after our long day and had a bit of a nap in the car.
I have one on one time with M. almost every Saturday but I think she’s going to have to start alternating with G. – it was a blast to spend alone time with you, my baby!

Posted Things on Thursday...
in1. So much for getting back on track with the blog this week. Stomach flu hit this house hard and today is the first time I’ve been on my feet. M was the worst and is still in bed, curled up next to daddy who finally succumbed today.
2. We have dinner plans with my dad tomorrow – Good Friday tradition is always his house for salt fish, yum! Unfortunately, it overlaps with my SIL this year so we’re missing out on her house but I’m hoping to convince her to go with a different day next year! ๐
3. Before they got sick, the kiddies were very excited for Easter Bunny to come. I’m crossing my fingers that they both are better by tomorrow and can enjoy the long weekend and their treats.
4. Saw this today and loved it. So easy that I may try to bang it out this evening – love how it looks!
5. Instagram is now on Android! It was the only app I envied on D’s iPhone and now it’s mine! Yay!
6. I’m hoping for beautiful weather and a healthy family this weekend – what are the chances?

in UncategorizedEarlier this morning I was watching a videoย tweeted by Jennifer McGuire (it’s funny, go watch!) and when it was over M went crazy:
M: The muffets, the muffets!
Me: (totally confused) The what?
M: The muffets, I want the pig!
Me: (looking at her like a crazy person) What?
M: There! The muffet pig with long hair!
I finally saw what she was looking at, Miss Piggy from theย Muppets – it was a confusing couple of minutes for me there.
