Sara lives on a little island called Newfoundland on the east coast of Canada where she complains about the fog and dreams of a longer summer – but loves it too much to ever leave! She gets by with the help of her husband, two children, and great headlights on her car.
Sara started dabbling in scrapbooking about 10 years ago and it has now become a passion that covers her basement and most kitchen surfaces. She loves to experiment and you can find her working on everything from scrapbooking to cards to home decor to mixed media canvases. She has been honoured to be published in multiple Create magazines and a Creating Keepsakes special issue, Mixed Media Volume 2. She is the Head Instructor at her LSS, The Paperie and loves nothing better than sharing her knowledge and art with others. Sara has also been lucky enough to be part of several creative teams including Simple Scrapper, Scrapbook Steals, and The Paperie.
She believes in hot baths, cold wine, rich ice cream, dark chocolate, and using the letter “u” in the word colour!
Hi Sara,

Hello Sara!
First off we would like to say that we are absolutely in love with your work. As fellow scrapbookers, we are blown away by your creativity & inspired by your posts. Thanks! My cousins and I (all co-authors of DIY Just Cuz) are working on a Scrapbook Series throughout the months of March & April. We are looking for talented Scrapbookers such as yourself to write a short guest post or segment on tips & tricks related to scrapbooking. We are trying to keep it related to themes and trends of 2015 (specifically the uses of watercolors, arrows & anchors in scrapbooking) and we were interested to see if you’d be willing to contribute. That post can be found here: http://diyjustcuz.com/scrapbook-series-begins/
If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, please contact us at diyjustcuz@gmail.com
Thank you so much & have a wonderful day, we can’t wait to read your next posts!
xoxo,
DIY Just Cuz Team

Hi Kimberley, most online stores would carry stencils (search The Crafter’s Workshop, Prima, Heidi Swapp as brand names) but you can also make your own. If you have a die cutting machine you can cut shapes from chipboard and make a temporary stencil. If you’re lucky enough to have an electronic machine, like a Silhouette, that can cut more intricate designs for you. For homemade stencils and mask, look around you – you can use molding paste over things like mesh or sequin waste, anything with open areas, and get a similar idea as stencils. I hope some of this helped – good luck!
