he…

… just turned 3. How in the world did that happen?

… loves his trucks. He got remote cars from P & C for his birthday and they’re a huge hit!

… will not have anything to do with toilet training. Not a thing. Suggestions would be appreciated! 🙂

she…

… is in her room having a melt down. You’d think she’d have learned by now – stubborn is not even the word.

… had a great eye check up last week and improved one full line of vision in each eye! Crossing our fingers that the patching will be on the shorter end of the time frame.

… loves the self timer on the camera and is constantly asking me to let the camera take her picture. Not me, just the camera!

he…

… is building the fence that divides us from our attached neighbour. Technically, it’s her fence but we share it so he’s building and she’s doing most of the buying.

… is not taking many pictures these days. Which means I’m using all my own shots – and they’re just not as good, trust me!

… is going to bed early these days and then complaining when my cold feet hit him and wake him up! 🙂

she…

… cannot wait for the Paperie Retreat this weekend. Fun, laughter, drinks, and some scrapping – fun times!

… is loving the selfies. I hate getting my picture taken so this is a quick and easy way around it!

… is liking her hair curly / is too lazy to straighten it each morning! Either way, I’m embracing the craziness of it!

Sorry about the lack of crafty eye candy lately. I’ll have some crafty links tomorrow and have a post ready to go Friday while I’m gone that will be crafty goodness too!

Tuesday – but no technique…

… because today just totally got away from me. 😦

I think all the documenting and photo taking and blogging last week burnt me out for this week! Plus I’m going to the semiannual Paperie Retreat Thursday night and I’m busy, busy, busy getting ready for that.

And then a friend called this evening asking for help so I did that rather than blog, which had been my intention.

Sorry! 🙂

Expect quick blog posts this week and back to normal on Monday!

Thanks!

Week in the Life | Sunday

This is it. The last day for my Week in the Life 2012 project. Overall it’s been a great one to do and I’m glad I stuck with it for the full seven days.

I have to admit, I’m glad it’s over but I’m really glad I did it! It was a lot of work and time and there’s a lot more work and time left to put into it in the form of photo editing, printing, and album assembling. But I know I’ll love it once it’s done.

Although this has been far from a normal week around here, it’s been fun to document how crazy life can be just in the normal day-to-day living.

Here are some snaps from yesterday:

And that’s it. A full week done and documented – now to get it all in an album!

Week in the Life | Saturday

Well, I’m almost finished the final day of my first foray into Week in the Life. Whew! It’s been a busy week around hereanyway, now made a bit busier by WITL! However, it’s been interesting and I can’t wait to see my finished mini when I get it done. The funniest part is that M is now refusing pics – I got a hand and a foot in the face today ! 🙂

Here are some snaps from yesterday:

See you tomorrow for my thoughts about this project and all the pics from today – the last day!

Week in the Life | Friday

So, this week just gets busier all the time! So much for a regular week to do this project – then again, is there any such thing as a regular week?

I thought I might be on top of things yesterday, but then I got an email from Meghan wondering where my biweekly Paperie Picks blog post might be…. So much for being caught up!

M had kinderstart yesterday morning and didn’t want to finish her milk (daily fight; she hates it, I say too bad for her), M and G spent the night at Nanny and Poppy’s house so there was the rush to get them there, then D and I went for dinner, and once we were back again, I had a post to write but ended up falling asleep on my keyboard (literally, it was pretty bad!). Now, how’s that for a run on sentence!

Here are some pics from the day (I have others that are great each day, but they’re of the kiddies I look after. This project is wonderful for their parents, picture wise!):

Back tomorrow with some more!

More than halfway through the week and it’s still going well, though I may be driving people crazy with all the photo taking! It was G’s birthday yesterday so super busy with lots going on. Lots of pics too, here are a few that cover our day:

So yesterday was crazy and I’m only now getting to post Wednesday’s Week in the Life pics – enjoy!

Still loving the process, though it is getting harder to motivate myself to write everything down! I know it will be worth it when the album is all put together.

Things on Thursday – the G edition

1. 3 years ago today, I was in a hospital bed watching this tiny boy sleeping and making little moaning sounds. He was definitely the cutest boy ever born (this is true, I am not biased, ask anyone!)

2. 3 years ago today, M was meeting “her baby” for the first time and pointing out all his body parts – she was very into that at age 20 months!

3. 3 years ago today, D and I were arguing over names – he was adamant about Gabriel, I didn’t like it. He won, obviously. I regret to this day I didn’t put Gabe on the birth certificate. He just isn’t a Gabriel….

4. 3 years ago today I was still in shock there was a baby boy – I was convinced I was having another girl. As a matter of fact, when the nurse said, “It’s a boy!” my response was, “Are you sure?” Ha!

5. 3 years ago today I already couldn’t imagine our lives without this blond haired, blue-eyed boy in it. He was, and still is, perfect. Though he does have an evil streak a mile wide!

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY, baby boy!!

Happy Birthday, sweet boy, we love you more than you’ll ever know!

(This is my second post today, check below for my Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger submission!)

Back for day two of Week in the Life and I’m still loving it. So much so that I’m seriously considering Project Life next Year, though I might start that in September as that’s when M starts school – seems like a good point from which to go year to year.

Anyway…. Here are some pics from yesterday!

Enjoy!

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger

I’m playing along with the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger again this week. It’s a fun one that inspired one of the cards I made for last night’s Hero Arts/Studio Calico class at The Paperie.

The trigger was watercolour butterflies:

Butterfly Reverie

As soon as I saw the border of butterflies in the Calico Borders set we were using in class, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

Watercolour Butterflies

I misted watercolour paper then coloured it with Distress Stains while it was still wet. As I was drying it with a heat tool, I kept misting to blend the colour and get water spots. I then stamped my images with black Archival Ink. I cut around the wings of two butterflies, coloured them with my favourite Sakura Stardust pen and bent the wings for dimension. I coloured the string with Distress Stain and wrapped it around the card front several times. To finish, I adhered the card front with dimensional adhesive for depth.

Love how it turned out – easy but fun and colourful!
