Party hair and a WINNER!

Big Picture Classes, giveaway winner

Almost every morning Molly and I have a fight about her hair. I want it up, or at least back in a hair band. She doesn’t want it brushed.

So imagine my surprise this morning when she declared that she wanted “Party Hair.”

What’s that, you say? Good question. It’s the same one I asked.

It turns out that “Party Hair” has one side up in a bun like a balloon and the other side left out like streamers.

I saw this all going terribly badly. However I forged ahead and, being the genius that I am, got it done. We had the bun/balloon on one side and for the “streamers” I twisted the other side up. It almost went downhill at that point but when I assured her that no one would ever let streamers just fall straight down, they always have to be twisted up to look more party-like, it was a go.

And here’s the final product – she was pleased as punch:

party hairPhew. Morning crisis #1 averted.

Now, to share a little something else with you all:

june card kit

Haha! Just a fun little sneak of the Paperie June Card Kit – I went outside the box on this one, my friends!

And finally, WINNER!!!

The lucky recipient of the spot in Big Picture Classes Art & Science of Scrapbooking Workshop is Bernadette – I’ve emailed you! Congratulations and enjoy!

S.

P.S. Didn’t win the spot? You can sign up right here – it starts tomorrow!

Congratulations, Gina! Email me at sarathings(at)gmail(dot)com and I’ll send you the code to join. Enjoy the class!

Big Picture Classes, December Duos, Giveaway

Just in time for your December memory keeping projects, I have a fabulous giveaway from Big Picture Classes – the December Duos Class!

BPC DD sq

I can’t wait to do this one myself – it’s definitely going to add a fun piece to my December Daily. Want to know more? Here’s the info and a video from BPC:

The “December Duos” concept is easy, stress-free, and inspiring. Every day for the twelve days leading up to Christmas Day, two of our twelve instructors will share a scrapbook layout, video message, and a page prompt in the form of a duo (“warm & cold,” “give & receive,” “near & far”). That’s a total of two-dozen inspiring ideas!

You can follow the instructor’s lead or march in your own direction as you snap your photos for the day. Then, after printing our fabulously free journaling cards and title cards, you’ll either slip the cards and your photos into a Project Life mini album from American Crafts or use them on a traditional (or digital) scrapbook page.

12 Days of Christmas: December Duos makes it easy to capture all of your most important holiday moments—in a festive new format—while keeping up with all the parties, presents, and pageants that make the holiday season magical.

Learn more and register here

Doesn’t that look like fun? Just leave a comment here telling me your favourite Christmas memory or tradition to be entered to win. Contest closes midnight EST November 30 and I’ll post the winner on December 1.  *contest closed*

Good luck!

1. I’m sure most of you have heard of/seen this video about Zach Sobiech. Even if you’ve already watched it, it’s worth another view.

2. Donna Downey is up to 30,000 Facebook fans and so, as a thank you, she has done a free mixed media video. Of course it’s awesome, so go take advantage and enjoy!

4. Another year, another ICAD (Index Card a Day)! Last year I managed to get 52 of the 61 done – this year I’m determined to do them all plus the ones I missed last year! I love this challenge, it’s a great way to play with new product, learn new techniques and just have fun. Plus, the Flickr group is incredible!

BPC_Logo_Colorsm

I really do have a most excellent giveaway today – you can win a spot in the Big Picture Classes Home Blessings workshop with Courtney Walsh!

courtneyw

Seriously, my friends, this is going to be one great workshop! BPC does incredible classes and I’m thrilled to be doing this one in January!

Here’s the class description:

BPC Home blessings banner

Wouldn’t you love to be surrounded by beautiful, subtle expressions of your deepest beliefs? To reflect your gratitude and love of life on the walls, shelves, and refrigerator fronts of your home?

In this four-week workshop, you’ll learn to create mixed-media wall art, collaged frames, and dimensional decor to bless your home with your own unique touch. Along the way, you’ll discover meaningful ways to bring blessing into your everyday and then create tangible elements to reflect these blessings.

Can you think of a better way to put your paper-crafting products (and skills) to use?

You’ll also uncover new ways to incorporate your whole family in the blessing process, helping yourself (and them) remember that life itself is the greatest blessing of all.
