If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you’ll have seen some sneak peeks of this weekend’s Weekend Of Fun at the Paperie! I’ll be teaching 4 classes inspired by the trip I took to Orlando this fall and it’s going to be a great couple of days! There’s still time to sign up so call the Paperie to reserve your spot ASAP!

Today I’m showing you the 4 cards we’ll be making in the Impression Obsession class.

I love Impression Obsession stamps – their Cover a Card backgrounds are fabulous – but in this class we’re focusing on their dies, the wreath die to be exact.

This is a super intricate die and it cuts the most beautiful twiggy wreath perfect for Fall:

Inside the sentiment continues to say, “…For You.”

I love the bit of sparkle that Rock Candy Distress Stickles add!

This one is my favourite but I can’t take credit for that awesome nest idea!

I’ll be back tomorrow with my first 12 on Twelve pics of the year, and I’ll be showing you more class samples throughout the week. Going to be a fun and crafty one around here!

Please don’t kick my ass.

I know you’re going to be a busy month.

Hugely busy.

Remember in December when I did 5 new classes in 10 days? Well January, that is kind of what you’re going to be like.

On top of the 6, count ’em, 6 new classes I’ll be teaching at The Paperie, I have my regular Design Team work for Simple Scrapper and am working on a special project for them as well.

And I still have Paperie Picks posts to write and of course, this place here.

So please be kind to me, January, I’m going to need it!

I’m looking forward to the final Yearlong 2012 class and to just being able to say goodbye to that one after a year.

I’m already planning, planning, planning for the new one and can’t wait for all the fun techniques we’re going to do in the 2013 class! I do know that brand new Crafter’s Workshop stencils and mixed media gels and gesso will be a small part of the new kit!

And I’m really excited for the 4 classes I’m teaching in one giant fun-filled weekend. Ranger, Impression Obsession, Dylusions, canvases, cards, mini albums, and more on January 19 and 20 for what I call the Orlando classes. There will be great products included, awesome techniques, and fabulous projects. I know I’m going to have a blast but boy oh boy, I have some major prep work to do!

But first, I’m teaming up with Cathie once again for a Designer Duo class in Mixed Media! She’ll being using those techniques on a LO while I’ll be teaching a canvas. This is my favourite type of project to do so I’m stoked to get everyone else loving this art form too.

Happy Memories

So yes January, I’m excited and looking forward to you but please, don’t throw anything else my way for a week or two!

You can learn more about all of my January classes at the Paperie here and call them to sign up for any or all. Sign-ups are still open for the new technique filled Yearlong Album 2013 too but call quick if you want to be part of that always sold out class!

…for the last Paperie class of the season!Christmas Card Class - grey mitten

I used an Impression Obsession die set, and three different stamps with a kissing technique. For these first two I used the mitten and theย knit background.

Christmas Card Class - red mitten

For the last one, I used the mitten and the Nordic Stripes background

Christmas Card Class - brown mittenThe holly die is from Papertrey Ink – it’s the largest in the set.

I love shaped cards and this one was so fun and easy to do – plus it looks like real mittens. Now, if only Impression Obsession would do trigger mitts I’d be all set here in NL!

The last card for tonight is the finished sneak I showed in the original post.

Christmas Card Class - Popup Card closedIt’s a pop-up card so the first picture is when it’s closed, and this next picture is once it’s opened!

Christmas Card Class - Popup CardCute, huh? Lots of Elizabeth Craft Designs here and fine detail glitter, with Copics – I love the sparkle!

For those of you coming tonight, we’re going to have fun, I can’t wait to see you all! And for those of you who can’t make it, I’m sorry – you’re missing out. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think there’s one spot left in class so if you want in, call The Paperie ASAP!

The Trip of a Lifetime

Distress Stain, Hero Arts, Houston, Impression Obsession, Kraft Glassine, The Crafter's Workshop, Tim Holtz

This past October the owners of The Paperieย offered me the trip and experience of a lifetime and sent me, along with one of the owners, Chris, to Houston for the Collins Group Rep Show. To say I was overwhelmed and way too excited the whole time would be an understatement! I took classes from Tim Holtz, Jennifer McGuireย (whoย publiclyย announced her pregnancy today!), Shari Carroll, Candy Rosenberg, and Cheryl Mezzetti, to name a few. The techniques I learned, the people I met, and the fun I had were just over the top.

In return, I came home with a promise to teach classes based on what I had picked up. And I had more ideas than I knew what to do with! We started the series of Houston Classes a couple of weeks ago with a full weekend of workshops. I taught 3 classes on Saturday and a full day Tim Holtz Class on Sunday.

Saturday morning was Hero Arts – Stamp and Embossย where we made 3 cards – a faux watercolour, a faux letterpress, and a trapped embossed resist.

Trapped Embossed Resist

Next up was Impression Obsession – One, Two, Tree (my personal favourite) where we again made 3 cards – one with alcohol inks, one with acrylic paints, and one with Distress Stains.

Distress Stains and Sparkle Embossing Powder

Finally, I taught a tag workshop with The Crafter’s Workshop Stencils. We made 10 tags, full of different techniques and everyone went home with the recipes on the back and the two stencils so they could recreate the fun we had!

The Tim class on Sunday was the Holiday Artful Journal, one of the exact classes Chris and I took while we were away. The big treat in this one was all the product everyone took home – stains, mists, paint, Glue n’ Seal, and a finished mini album!

Tim Holtz Holiday Artful Journal

There was lots of laughing, a bunch of giveaways, and some great projects made. I can’t wait to do the next class in the series – Kraft Glassine Mixed Media Mini Album. That’s coming February 12, 2012 at The Paperieย – and here’s a peek!

Glassine Album Sneak Peek

We’ll be playing with Distress Stains, Alcohol Inks, Cork Paper, Sticky Back Canvas, and more!

Have a good one, everybody!
