Note: This is my second post today, check below for the first part of my Paperie Card Kit Reveal!
I have a product post up at Scrapbook Steals today and I’m just a bit in love with the product! As a matter of fact, the more I used it, the more I wanted to play!
Remember the sneak peek from the other day? Interested to see more? Go check out the full post here!

Today over on the Paperie blog are all the projects I made with the March card kit – I got a lot of mileage out of this one! To make it easier and much shorter for you here, today will just be all about the layouts.
I had fun stamping and heat embossing the balloons for this one – with a couple of layers of UTEE they look like real shiny balloons! I also stamped the stars in silver ink for a bit of subtle shimmer:
Finally, I did some hidden jounalling – of course – and doodled the edges.
This next one is one of my fave pics of Molly – love how she got all dressed up for the backyard!
I mounted the photo on a base of silver crackle paste over a stencil:
And finally, I punched the alpha stickers with a 1/4″ square punch since I didn’t want the circle ones for this LO. It worked perfectly!
The last LO was totally fun to do:
I used Pearl Modeling Creme over a stencil, sprinkled it with glitter gold embossing powder, and then heated to set the powder and bubble the paste. It was all kinds of awesome. 🙂
I added lots of paper layers, made some epoxy stars with the Epiphany tool, and added my title with the gold rub-ons in the kit:
Go check out my Flickr gallery to see more pics and a few more details. I’ll be back later with another post today (!!!) and next week I’ll share the rest of my Card Kit projects!

1. Lego people – always a favourite around here (especially the pretzel girl – Molly says it’s her because she loves pretzels!).
2. selfie in the porch, as always.
3. more snow…… blerg.
4. getting photos ready for Keeping Track of Life with Krista.
5. drawing and writing by Gabe. He’s learning to draw hearts (he traced these) because Molly always draws hearts.
6. Miss Rosie
7. reading during nap time.
8. my nap time companion.
9. Molly made a snowman woman – Precious Elizabeth. I kid you not.
10. math time. More blerg.
11. dot-to-dots, his favourite. Not sure why he’s colouring with a pencil but whatever.
12. Spark time – painting with a local artist tonight.

Today over at the Scrapbook Steals blog it’s Midweek Mojo time again and it’s a fun one! One of the CT members, Jessica, designed the sketch and sent it to the rest of the team in case we wanted to play along – which we did, of course!
Here’s mine:
I used a collection that you’ll see coming up over there on Friday so keep an eye out!
I had a ton of fun layering school themed items, since this is a pic of Molly’s first day of kindergarten. I have a pencil, a ruler, a chalkboard:
And then I layered papers, chipboard, and stickers:
Loads of fun, and it’s an awesome sketch – pop over and check out what the other girls have done. Maybe you should take some time to play along yourself and perhaps win a prize!

Do you have some favourite products that you sometimes forget about? Me too. And that thought, along with a conversation I had with my friend Rae Lynn, led to a new class at The Paperie which debuted Monday night!
The first in this bimonthly series was all about Distress Ink. I, like many people I know, have them all, love them all, but they have fallen to the side a little as fun new products come out. To renew the love I taught two layouts and 6 card fronts full of different techniques to get our Distress Ink mojo flowing again!
The first LO is basic blending with a bit of “spritz and flick” to add dimension:
I used buttons and paper strips for layers, dimension, and fun:
The second LO was all about using Distress Ink in a watercolour-y way and I love how it turned out:
The 6 card fronts used stencils, layering, water ghosting, faux watercolour, and ink blending. They were fun! To see them all, check out my Flickr stream.
Next time we do a Renewed class it’s going to be all about Distress Paint so come join us and find out how much fun they can be!

A couple of weeks ago the new session of my Yearlong Class started up again and so far it seems like we’re going to have a ton of fun!
All the classes are sketch based this year and we’re lucky enough to have had Mary Ann design all the exclusive sketches for us – you can only get them in this class! If you like sketches or want to learn more about how to use them to suit you, this is the last chance to sign up and get in on the good times.
Our paper this year is from the Studio Calico Wanderlust collection and I wanted to show a bunch of colours and patterns to start off the year, which led to this cover page LO:
That big black and white block was meant for a 4×6 photo but I liked how it looked on its own so much that I think I’m going to leave it as is – designer’s perogative! 🙂
The initial kit includes some amazing resist alphas stickers and cork hearts:
And some fabulous gold alphas and flair:
The January LO is fairly simple but I taught how to stretch a sketch and alter it to suit your photo needs:
We used more of those resist alphas with some enamel dots:
and gold letters with October Afternoon labels:
and finished it off with great Project Life arrow stickers:
I think there may be one kit left so if you want to get the amazing core kit and initial instructions and then join us for the rest of the year, now is the time to go for it!
As always, I’ll be posting to twitter, instagram, and Facebook with #YLA2014 so keep an eye out for sneak peeks close to the end of each month.

It’s Show & Tell time at Simple Scrapper again and the March members materials are fabulous!
My Story Starter this month uses an amazing sketch based on a LO that was originally designed by Melanie Ritchie:
This was such a fun sketch to work with and I love that I got to scrapbook a great memory and story that my grandfather always told me – plus I used the rhyme he always said as a title for the page.
I added some wood veneer and coloured it with a Wink of Stella brush pen – the black is incredible!
The sketch template I Â used for this next LO may be one of my faves ever – I can see using it over and over. Such great possibilities with flipping and twisting this one!
Isn’t that picture of Molly the cutest thing ever? Love her…
I added fun sequins to this one and love the shimmer of them:
Head over to the Show&Tell and check out the other LO’s people are sharing. While you’re there, share one of your own – we all love to see everyone’s work each month!

A while back I posted a few puzzle pieces that I had altered for a swap. After those I completely lost track of time and just finished up all the rest this past weekend. They’re now in addressed envelopes waiting to be mailed. Hopefully, that will take me less time than the actual making of the pieces did but don’t hold your breath – I’m a slacker when it comes to mailing things!
First, the one that I said was a mess in the last post is completely redone (and forgive me for the terrible picture):
I’m not going to go through each piece, that would be too boring for you altogether, so here are a couple and you can find all the rest at my flickr account here.
On this one I love the colour:
and glitter!
This flower stamp is one of my faves:
And the gold Ferro molding paste is fabulous:
Go check out the rest and enjoy!
