Last night, M broke the tail on one of her dress up costumes. We told her the elastic had snapped and it couldn’t be fixed.
She’s nothing if not stubborn so she tied a knot in it and said, “Look! I fixed it! I have mad skills!”

M: G, do you know why cats are interesting?
G: Why-eeee?
M: Because they have claws, and teeth, and fur.
G: Oh.
M: And they’re a little bit strange.

Mom popped by today and spent some time with M during naptime. She told Nana, “This eye is working really, really hard and this eye is on vacation in Noba Cotia (Nova Scotia) – that’s why I need a patch.”

So I was teaching today (more on that tomorrow) and when I got home I was talking to M.
Me: How was your day?
M: Good, I guess.
Me: What did you have for lunch?
M: Well, Daddy gave us beans, but I didn’t eat them all.
Me: Why not? You like beans.
M: Well, I just wasn’t interested.
Ah, four year olds!
